Course Description
This course is designed to explain what accessibility is, why it is so important, and ways to make your websites and eLearning courses accessible.
Course Overview
This course will provide you with a basic knowledge of accessibility for websites and course development. W3C accessibility standards for both websites and authoring will be explained, and some quick fixes to meet the standards will be given.
Additional ways to make your products accessibility-compliant will be discussed, and resources for further learning are provided.
Upon completion, you should have an understanding of the meaning of accessibility, and know how to test for compliance and make necessary changes to become compliant.

- A: 94 - 100%
- B: 80 - 93%
- C: 70 - 80%
- F: Below 70%.
- There is no D awarded in graduate school.
Late Work Policy
Late work will automatically be lowered by 25%. Assignments more than 3 days late will not be accepted unless prior arrangements have been made. If you have circumstances that affect your ability to complete assignments, please contact me at least 3 days in advance of the due date.
Assignment Submission Instructions
Each written assignment must be submitted through the course assignment system. Assignments will not be accepted via email. Name your files using the following convention, e.g., assignment1_lastname.docx.
Expectations
- This class meets virtually. It is essential that you access the course site every day to read course announcements, interact with the class, submit assignments, take online quizzes, etc..
- By enrolling in this course, you have agreed to contribute to weekly discussions by accessing the Discussion Board regularly (2-3 times per week).
- I will monitor and facilitate class discussions, respond to private questions within 24 to 48 hours, provide timely feedback on written assignments and projects, and help build a learning community.
